Summit Partners, a global growth equity investor, has appointed JD Mullin as the firm’s executive in residence. Mullin will work with Summit’s technology team to identify new investment and leadership opportunities in growth-stage software companies.

Mullin brings experience in leading and scaling fast-growing SaaS businesses and building product teams that drive innovation and support high-velocity sales models.

Previously, Mullin worked for Intuit where he led the QuickBooks Time business since 2019. Mullin joined Intuit after its 2019 acquisition of TSheets, where Mullin worked from 2013 to 2021 helping to scale the team from 20 to over 400 employees, grow annual recurring revenues and expand the user base.

“We’ve worked closely with J.D. for a number of years, and we’ve been continually impressed with his rare combination of product vision, technical expertise and business acumen,” said Colin Mistele, a managing director with Summit Partners.
