JMI Equity has led an investment in SewerAI, an artificial intelligence platform focused on sewer and underground infrastructure intelligence, alongside existing investors Innovius CapitalEpic Ventures and Bentley Systems.

The funding will support continued product development and expansion of SewerAI’s AI-powered capabilities for infrastructure inspection, risk assessment, rehabilitation planning and program management. Founded in 2019, SewerAI helps municipalities, engineering firms and contractors transform underground infrastructure inspection data into actionable asset management decisions. The company’s platform supports more than 2,000 cities, manages over 30,000 miles of pipe and has processed more than 850,000 NASSCO surveys through its AutoCode™ AI engine. Its customer base includes the City of HoustonCity of PhoenixKC Water and infrastructure service providers such as HDR and PURIS. SewerAI has also tripled its customer base over the past two years while expanding its AI-driven planning and decision-support tools.
