Architect Equity has acquired Material Handling Exchange, marking the private equity firm’s 10th platform investment.
MHE will continue operating from its existing facilities in Franklin, Ind., serving customers across North America. The acquisition expands Architect’s presence in industrial and infrastructure-related end markets through a business with both manufacturing and refurbishment capabilities.
Founded in 1989, MHE provides a range of material handling services centered on racking equipment. Its offerings include permitting, warehouse layout and design, large-scale rack tear-down and removal, fabrication of customized new racking systems and shipping and installation services. The company also specializes in the purchase, sale, and refurbishment of used racking equipment and states that it is the only U.S. rack manufacturer with a dedicated focus on large-scale used-rack refurbishment and resale.
