Barings has made changes to its senior leadership structure as part of broader strategic growth initiatives aimed at scaling the firm’s global product platform. Brad Finkle will join the alternative investment manager as global chief operating officer, a newly created position reporting to chairman and CEO Mike Freno.

Bryan High, head of global private finance, will also join the senior leadership team. In addition, Eric Lloyd, currently president of Barings, will assume the role of vice chairman while remaining a member of the senior leadership team and executive chairman of the board of Barings BDC Inc. In his new role, Finkle will work closely with senior leadership to advance key growth initiatives and initially oversee product strategy, management and development. His responsibilities will include enhancing Barings’ global product offering across institutional, insurance and wealth management channels, accelerating product launches, and expanding the firm’s product delivery capabilities.

Finkle joins Barings from TIAA, where he most recently served as executive vice president and head of TIAA Third-Party Solutions Businesses. During nearly 20 years with TIAA and Nuveen, he held several senior leadership roles, including chief administrative officer of TIAA Wealth Management, chief operating officer of Nuveen, and president of TIAA Investments.
