Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a private equity firm focused on healthcare and technology industries, has added Jim Hinton as operating partner in the firm’s healthcare resources group.

Hinton has been a leader in the healthcare industry for over 38 years.Hinton retired from his position as CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health, a not-for-profit health service in Texas, on December 31st. While at Baylor Scott, he led the strengthening of the firm’s patient-safety focus, employee engagement and operational performance. Before his position at Baylor Scott, Hinton served at Presbyterian Healthcare Services for over three decades; he held the role of president and CEO for 21 years.
