Equifax, a consumer reporting agency company, is buying Kount Inc., a provider of artificial intelligence-driven fraud prevention, from CVC Capital Partners, for $640 million. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021.

Kount protects over 9,000 brands globally. The company has earned recognition in digital fraud prevention, with over 13 years of data informing its advanced machine learning and AI-based models.

Barclays acted as exclusive financial advisor and Fried Frank acted as legal advisor to Kount.
