Raymond James is expanding its debt capital markets capabilities by hiring David Barcus as managing director and head of high yield capital markets. The firm expects the addition of Barcus will enhance the its ability to serve issuers of non-investment-grade debt.

“Our corporate debt capital-raising business has grown significantly in recent years, and we continually explore ways to improve our origination and execution expertise,” said Julian Bynum, head of debt capital markets. “David’s leveraged finance experience will contribute to more comprehensive coverage of our corporate and financial sponsor clients.”

Based in New York City, Barcus joins Raymond James from BBVA Securities, where he led the North American high-yield business for the last five years.

“I’m excited to join Raymond James and the Debt Capital Markets group,” Barcus said. “The firm is well-positioned to deliver successful outcomes to clients across numerous industries, and I look forward to building on the momentum established by the DCM team.”
