HCI Equity Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm focused on founder-owned distribution, manufacturing and B2B service companies, has promoted Scott Gibaratz to partner, Brendon Biddle and Tim Frend to managing director and Matt Clark to vice president.

Gibaratz joined the firm in 2004 and has played a role in acquisitions and management of the firm’s portfolio companies. Additionally, he brings experience as an M&A banker and corporate CFO. Biddle has been with the firm since 2006 and plays a significant role in evaluation and execution of its investment mandates. He has experience in defense and distribution markets.

Frend joined the firm in 2006 and spent his time in deal leadership while also heading the firm’s business development and deal origination strategies. Additionally, Frend works with the firm’s portfolio companies and plays a role in management of growth strategies. Clark recently joined the firm in 2020 and brings 10 years of experience in best in class organizations. He is tasked with evaluating, executing and monitoring investments made by the firm.
