General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, has hired Mark Stevenson as a senior adviser.

In his role, Stevenson will provide strategic counsel and support to the firm’s investment teams and portfolio companies in the life sciences sector. Most recently, Stevenson served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, a company providing life science services, analytical instruments, diagnostics and pharma services. He was responsible for the company’s portfolio of life science, analytical and diagnostic businesses as well as the company’s innovation and digital strategy.
