EJF Capital LLC, a Washington D.C.-based private equity firm, has added John Murray and Derrick Preuss as managing directors.
Murray will work on EJF’s portfolio management team, where he will focus on residential mortgage-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights and credit risk transfer transactions. Murray brings over 26 years of structured product investment experience to EJF. Most recently, he was a senior managing director of portfolio management and the chief portfolio manager at Arlington Asset Investment Corp., where he worked for 22 years.
Preuss will work on EJF’s business development team, where he will be responsible for building relationships with existing and prospective investors. Preuss brings nearly two decades of financial services experience and expertise to EJF. Previously, he was a partner at Winston Partners, where he spent nearly 13 years leading the firm’s business development efforts and supporting its client service program.
