Vibra Healthcare LLC has purchased two facilities for $20.7 million from Kindred Healthcare Inc.

Earlier in September, Vibra picked up 14 facilities from Kindred for $165.8 million. Vibra is a Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based hospital provider.

The 16 total facilities consist of 14 transitional care hospitals, one inpatient rehabilitation facility and one skilled nursing facility.

Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred sold the buildings because they were outside of the company’s designated 21 integrated care markets. The company plans to use the proceeds to pay down the outstanding balance under its existing revolving credit facility, and eventually to acquire home health and hospice operations.

The health care sector has recently been home to a wave of deals. Mednax Inc. (NYSE: MD) recently picked up orthern Westchester Anesthesia Services PC as its second New York practice, and Bregal Partners bought US Community Behavioral LLC to expand into the community-based behavioral health care space.
