Worldpages.com Inc. said Nov. 6 it had hired Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to help it auction off the company. The $130 million market cap Internet telephone directory service provider has been hit hard by investors since March, when its stock stood as high as $18.38, and on the announcement the stock stayed flat at $3.06 per share. It had come up slightly in the previous week, which included a third quarter earnings announcement, and an expanded reseller agreement with Associated Publishing Co., a subsidiary of Hearst Corp.
