On Willamette Industries Inc.’s third quarter earnings call last Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer Duane McDougall said, when asked about Weyerhaueser Co., “Since the annual meeting, they’ve presented us with nothing new to discuss.” The next day, though, after the market closed, McDougall and Willamette Chairman William Swindells issued a release containing a letter to Weyerhaueser Chairman and CEO Steven Rogel saying, “We believe Willamette’s current value is in the $60s.”
