Midway Airlines Inc., which recently filed for bankruptcy, plans to divest its entire fleet of 17 aircraft to provide the ailing carrier with much needed cash. Morrisville, N.C.-based Midway filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 14, after the market closed. In addition to filing for bankruptcy protection, Midway will slash roughly 700 jobs or nearly 50% of its workforce.
