Along with announcing slashed third quarter earnings, West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. publicized it has retained the services of UBS Warburg to review strategic alternatives, including a sale of assets. The Street was hardly impressed with the Oct. 16 news, as West’s stock lost 44 cents from its opening price to finish trading at $22.94. At press time, the $335 million market cap company traded at $22 per share.
