Bankrupt Webvan Group Inc. is shopping itself to bricks-and-mortar grocery chains in an effort to sell its proprietary software, said a source involved in the bankruptcy negotiations. But those supermarket operators, which include Safeway Inc. and Stop & Shop Supermarket Co., aren’t biting. Webvan wants to unload assets “as quickly as we can,” said the source, who requested anonymity. The company has sold some assets already via auctions, but “I don’t know if that’s the best way to go,” he said.
