Prime Focus World and digital visual effects provider Double Negative are merging.

Double Negative, headquartered in London, provides visual effects for the film industry. The group has won awards for its work on Inception, Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Terms of the merger were not disclosed.

The company will combine with Prime Focus, which is a creative services group, to form a larger film services operation. “There are clear synergies for the merger and the combined operation will provide global scale and greater creative flexibility for customers," says Thierry Monjauze, managing director at Harris Williams & Co., which provided financial advice to Double Negative on the deal.

Prime Focus has worked on films including Maleficent and Edge of Tomorrow.

Zach Mueller of Harris Williams also provided financial advice to Double Negative on the deal.
