Craig Cornelius, head of the U.S. Department of Energy’s $1.5 billion “Solar America” initiative is leaving the Department to join a newly launched clean energy private equity firm, Hudson Clean Energy Partners, based in Teaneck, New Jersey. Craig Cornelius, a solar energy specialist in charge of the Department’s Solar Energy Technologies Program, has been a prime architect of DOE solar technology funding for more than 100 corporations across the United States. He joins Hudson Clean Energy Partners as a principal in January. Hudson will invest in companies focused on renewable power, alternative fuels, energy storage and demand-side energy management.
