Triad Hospitals Inc. has been trying to sell its hospital management services business since this spring, and may end up keeping the unit, said a company spokeswoman. Jim McElhaney, VP of acquisitions and development at Triad, said, “We’ve had some interest, but we haven’t been able to get anyone over the goal line.” He declined to say why no deal had been consummated or who had been interested, and deferred all further comment to Merrill Lynch’s Alan Hartman, who is heading the process, but was out on vacation last week.
