A major reshuffling of UBS’s M&A business landed London-based Piero Novelli and Los Angeles-based Jeffrey Raich in top posts as joint global heads of M&A. Bulking up their M&A and corporate finance capabilities, Milbank, Tweed and Simpson Thacher named a number of attorneys to partnership positions in their corporate practices. Robert W. Baird and DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary opened new offices abroad to offer M&A and corporate finance services in growing markets. Beijing is home to the newest office of DLA Piper, which recently acquired a large slice of Coudert Brothers’ Beijing practice. And, fortifying its transatlantic operations, Baird opened an office in Frankfurt, Germany, which provides M&A advisory services in the industrials sector and the middle market.
