In a bold organic growth spurt, top Texas law firm Thompson & Knight opened two new offices back to back – one in New York City and one in Mexico City – to take advantage of opportunities in those regions. T&K’s New York office boasts energy tax expertise and international liquefied natural gas (LNG) project development and finance capabilities. Its Mexico City location adds to its network of five offices in Latin and South America and bolsters its burgeoning Mexican operations. In other news, a band of SG Cowen media/communications bankers jumped ship to join Jefferies & Co., which is intensifying its focus on the media and communications sectors.
