Private equity firm Bertram Capital has invested in Paula’s Choice, a skin care and cosmetics company.

The brand, headquartered in Seattle, Wash., was founded by Paula Begoun (pictured), who wrote skincare and makeup guide, “Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me.”

The company is an online resource for skin care and make up products and advice.

This is Bertram’s third investment in a high-growth consumer brand and its ninth platform investment. The firm, headquartered in San Mateo, Calif., has more than $850 million in capital under management. Its portfolio companies include Sanare LLC, Spireon Inc. and One Distribution LLC.

Partnership Growth Capital represented Paul’s Choice in the deal. Terms were not disclosed.

In November, dress and accessory rental company Rent the Runway got a $20 million investment from Advance Communications, Bain Capital, Highland Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
