Borrowing the adage “better late than never,” Mergers & Acquisitions Report is publishing the third quarter worldwide advisory league tables. The events of Sept. 11 until recently impacted M&AR’s ability to print the tables. For the first three quarters of 2001, Goldman Sachs held onto its perches on both the advisory league tables. The firm advised on $452 billion worth of announced worldwide M&A to win that honor. Nevertheless, its prize was not necessarily cause for celebration-that figure was less than half of Goldman’s $995.3 billion in announced global M&A business for the same period of last year.
