Looking to focus on its core product line, Teledyne Technologies Inc. announced it is exploring strategic alternatives for its aerospace engines and components division. But the industry downturn may keep potential bidders away, said an analyst. Mark Jordan, an equity analyst with A.G. Edwards, described Teledyne’s aerospace engine business as solid but, “the [aerospace] industry is in an economic trough.” Potential bidders therefore may not have enough fuel in the tank to buy a unit and weather the slowdown, he suggested.
