TA Associates has closed an investment in software company Idera Inc.

Idera, headquartered in Houston, provides performance monitoring software for physical, virtual and cloud-based services to monitor backup, security and compliance. The company has made previous acquisitions, including Precise Software and Copper Egg, which it acquired in 2013.  Idera’s management invested alongside TA in the transaction, and terms were not disclosed.

The deal marks an exit for Idera’s previous investors Austin Ventures, Vector Capital, Silverton Partners and Greylock Israel.

For Boston private equity firm TA, the deal comes one day after an investment in French insurance company Groupe Cipres.The firm’s other recent investments include SkinnyPop Popcorn LLC, which it picked up in August, and Bogmar, which the firm acquired in May.
