Stuck on Moody’s credit review list, contending with a low share-price and litigating a $520 million lawsuit, Enhance Financial Services (EFS) remains in the midst of its look at strategic alternatives. In March, EFS announced it had hired Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to help it consider both a divestiture of its non-insurance assets or a sale of the entire company. EFS, based in New York and with a market capitalization of $589 million, is a financial guarantee reinsurer with specialty finance subs.
