Spansion (NYSE: CODE) has closed a deal for the microcontroller and analog business of Fujitsu Semiconductor for about $165 million.

Yokohama, Japan-based Fujitsu Semiconductor develops and manufactures semiconductors, including microcontrollers.  The company is a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd., which develops information technology products and services.

Spansion develops embedded memory products.

The company expects the acquisition to lead to the development on-chip products used to develop faster, energy-efficient products.
