SourceMedia Inc., a portfolio company of Bahrain private equity firm Investcorp and publisher of Mergers & Acquisitions, has named Harry Nikpour (pictured) vice president of its capital markets group.

The New York-based company, which focuses on the financial services industry, cites Nikpour's more than 15 years of experience in financial information publishing.

Under his leadership, Mergers & Acquisitions – published in partnership with the Association for Corporate Growth – nearly tripled its revenues since he rejoined SourceMedia in 2011 as capital markets group advertising director and publisher.

Nikpour is also the founder of DealMaker Portal, a website and database company that facilitates targeted searches for professionals in the mergers and acquisitions industry. He earlier served as associate publisher of The Deal LLC, which was was sold to TheStreet from private equity firm Wasserstein & Co. in September 2012. Before that, he managed Money Management Executive, a news service also published by SourceMedia that focuses on the mutual-fund industry.

Separately, SourceMedia announced the promotion of Michael Ballinger to publisher of Mergers & Acquisitions' sister publication The Bond Buyer, a new service covering the U.S. municipal bond market.

The team brings experience in managing paid-subscription information resources, as well as in developing strategic marketing programs, expanding digital services and growing subscription revenues.

Each promotion fills the vacancy created by the departure of Michael Stanton, who is slated to join bond insurance company Build America Mutual as head of corporate strategy and communications in November.

Nikpour and Ballinger "have strong track records of delivering innovative solutions on behalf of our marketing partners," says Doug Manoni, chief executive of SourceMedia, according to a release.
