The $15 billion San Francisco City & County Employees’ Retirement System (SFERS) selected two new private equity managers at its June meeting, confirmed David Kushner, deputy director of investments with the plan. Kushner said that the board approved a commitment of up to $20 million in Parish Capital’s Special Opportunity Fund as well as a commitment of up to $30 million in MatlinPatterson’s Global Opportunities Partners III. All of SFERS private equity investments are reviewed by the plan’s consultants with Portfolio Advisors.
