Roark Capital has bought Schlotzsky’s, a quick casual restaurant chain offering made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads and pizza. Founded in 1971, Schlotzsky’s has 365 franchised and company-owned locations generating $210 million of system-wide revenues across 36 US states and six countries. Schlotzsky’s has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Focus Brands, a company owned by affiliates of Roark Capital Group. Focus owns the rights to Schlotzsky’s, Carvel ice cream, Celebration Foods, Cinnabon and Seattle’s Best Coffee in certain international markets.
