The Westlake Village, Calif.-based target, which does business as Blue Microphones, is a portfolio company of Transom Capital Group and known for its brand of microphone technology that is used by various artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Coldplay.
Blue Microphones was first picked up by Transom in April 2008. Since then, the Los Angeles private equity firm grew the company by purchasing the assets of Summit Audio Inc., a manufacturer of high end signal processors and microphone preamps, in April 2011.
Transom hired Los Angeles-based Intrepid Investment Bankers LLC to run the sale process. Among the bankers running the auction were Adam Abramowitz, Greg Passani and Gary Rabishaw.
US Bank provided the financing for the transaction while Jones Day and Deloitte acted as legal advisers to New York-based Riverside.
Los Angeles-based law firms Russ August & Kabat and Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP each handled legal matters for Blue Microphones.
