Quality Beverage LP has acquired the remaining interest of Consolidated Beverages LLC, an independent Anheuser-Busch (NYSE: BUD) beer distributorship.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The transaction will see Quality Beverage operate two divisions in Massachusetts, one located in Taunton and the other in Auburn.
Quality Beverage, headquartered in Taunton, made its first investment in Auburn-based Consolidated Beverages in 2007 partnering with David Fields, who acquired the company with his father in April 2005 with financing from SunTrust Bank Inc. of Atlanta.
Fields, as a minority owner, will continue to work as a consultant for the wholesaler until the end of 2013 as a way to ensure a smooth transition following the acquisition.
Quality Beverage, which formerly did business as Marcon LP, distributes Anheuser-Busch beverage products as well as energy drinks, flavored malt beverages, vodka and spirits.
