Dan Aronson has been named CEO of Trading Company Holdings (TCH), a direct-to-consumer retail platform company backed by private equity firm D Cubed Group LLC. TCH bought Victorian Trading Co. in 2014. Aronson served previously as CFO of LiveWatch Security LLC, which was sold to Monitronics in 2015.


Scott Barshay has joined Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP as head of global M&A. Previously with Cravath Swaine & Moore LLP, Barshay advises clients on M&A, activist defense and corporate governance.


William Berry has been named an operating partner at Soundcore Capital Partners LLC. Berry, who most recently served as the CEO of American Tire Distributors, is advising the private equity firm’s portfolio companies on management and operations.


Mark Birkett has been hired by Livingstone as a managing director. Birkett, most recently with William Blair, focuses on debt facilities from $20 million to $200 million for middle-market companies.


David Blittner has joined Ropes & Gray as a partner. Blittner, previously with Weil Gotshal & Manges, works with private equity firms on acquisitions and financing.


Chris Cathcart has been promoted to partner at the Halifax Group. Cathcart is in charge of the firm’s origination program, deal underwriting and investor relations.


Sandro de Bernardini has been promoted to partner at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP. Bernardini focuses on cross-border M&A, private equity and Initial Public Offerings.


Tomas Freyman has joined investment bank Lincoln International as a managing director. Freyman, previously with BDO LLP, focuses on valuations and opinions in the energy, infrastructure and technology sectors.


Dominique Padilla Gallego was hired by Sidley Austin LLP as a partner. Gallego advises hedge funds and private equity firms on tax matters.


Jack Habert has joined Akerman LLP as a partner. Habert, most recently with Willkie Farr & Gallagher, advises financial institutions on structured finance and complex derivatives transactions.


Jinjian Huang was hired by Nixon Peabody as a partner. Huang, previously with Winston & Strawn LLP, focuses on M&A involving China-based companies.


Brijesh Jeevarathnam was hired by Adams Street Partners as a partner. Jeevarathnam, previously with Commonfund Capital, is Adams Street’s co-head of global venture fund investments and a member of the firm’s primary investment team.


Jon Kaufman has joined investment bank Pickwick Capital Partners LLC as a managing director in its health care group. Kaufman previously held positions at Merck & Co. (NYSE: MRK) and Lipella Pharmaceuticals.


Christian Kleeberg is now a partner in Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP’s Frankfurt office. Kleeberg, most recently with Taylor Wessing, concentrates on M&A and private equity.


Andrew Lom was hired by Norton Rose Fulbright as a partner. Lom, most recently with Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP, advises clients on fund formations, private equity as well as regulatory and tax matters.


Scott Miller has joined Willkie Farr & Gallagher as a partner. Miller, previously with Bracewell, represents middle-market private equity firms on M&A, particularly in the industrial and energy sectors.


Jon Nemo was hired by AE Industrial Partners LLC as a partner. Nemo, most recently with Harris Williams & Co., focuses on M&A in the aerospace and defense sector.


Oliver Olah has joined Vinson & Elkins LLP as a counsel. Olah, previously with Weil Gotshal, concentrates on private equity and M&A.


Scott Plumridge has been promoted to partner at the Halifax Group. Plumridge assists the firm with sourcing, evaluating and executing potential investments.


Matthew Roose has been promoted to partner at Fried Frank. Roose represents debtors, creditors’ and equity committees in chapter 11 cases along with out-of-court restructurings.


Mark Secrest has joined investment bank BTIG LLC as a managing director. Secrest, previously with Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF), concentrates on the medical devices, life sciences and diagnostics sectors.


Michael Stein has joined DLA Piper as a partner. Stein, previously deputy general counsel at electronic gaming machine provider Everi Holdings Inc. (NYSE: EVRI) advises companies on M&A and securities law.


Henry Wang was hired by K&L Gates as a partner. Wang, previously with Mayer Brown JSM, advises clients on M&A and other corporate matters with a focus on Chinese companies.


Colin Welch has joined TSG Consumer Partners as a managing director. Welch, most recently with Financo LLC, focuses on investments in the consumer and retail sectors, including apparel and personal care.


John Willding has joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP as a partner. Willding, previously with Strasburger & Price LLP, focuses on M&A in health care, aerospace, financial services and education.
