Private equity-backed Tall Tree Foods has acquired Klement Sausage Co. Inc.

Milwaukee-based Klement Sausage manufactures sausage, as well as snack sticks and deli meats. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal will add scale and geographic expansion to Tall Tree, a food-brand owner created by Palo Alto, Calif.-based sponsor Altamont Capital Partners in June 2013. Altamont has about $1.3 billion in capital under management, and focuses on investing in lower middle market businesses. The firm previously picked up Blue Ribbon Bacon and Sausage and Richard's Cajun Foods to add to Tall Tree in June 2013.

Altamont's other acquisitions include Mervin Manufacturing Inc., which it bought in October from Quicksilver Inc. (NYSE: ZQK), and Tacala and Boom Foods, fast-food chain operators, which Altamont picked up in December 2012.

Greene Holcomb Fisher served as Klement Sausage's financial adviser.
