The Ackerley Group Inc., in less than a month, will likely be right where it is now—about to be gobbled up by Clear Channel Communications Inc. for $785 million. Yes, the Oct. 5 definitive, front and center, contains language giving Ackerley an out should unsolicited interest come knocking. And while not necessarily an unusual clause, it provides that if Ackerley, by the 30th calendar day after the agreement, or Nov. 4, decides to terminate the deal for a better offer, it must then negotiate with Clear Channel for 72 hours. .
