Following pressure from numerous activist shareholders, John Kluge’s hodgepodge of a company, Metromedia International Group Inc., has at last said it will consider splitting itself up. Over the last year, 13Ds have been filed by Snyder Capital Management and letters written to management and shareholders by Elliot Associates L.P. and Westgate International L.P. (see M&AR, 6/12/00). Demands to meet with management and look at the firm’s books were made this fall by Lens Investment Management.
