Dissident shareholders of $112 million market cap Metromedia International Group Inc. have fought long and hard to get their two-member slate elected, but they still face steep odds at tomorrow’s annual meeting. News Corp., which holds 9.72% of the firm, will vote for Metromedia’s slate, as will a management group controlling 21.6% of the stock, said one large shareholder who requested anonymity. News Corp. could not be reached, but the company has a longstanding relationship with Metromedia’s chairman John Kluge.
