In the wake of the European Commission breaking up General Electric Co.’s planned $45 billion purchase of Honeywell International Inc., rumors are circulating that Honeywell may sue GE, said one antitrust lawyer.”There is a growing trend of busted deal litigation for targets abandoned at the alter,” he said, and a Honeywell lawsuit could be the latest example. The lawyer, a partner at a Washington firm who wished to remain anonymous, could not elaborate on exactly what grounds Honeywell planned to sue.
