After rumors started circling that investment bank Lazard Freres was marketing JDN Realty Corp., JDN came clean: Lazard has been feeling out possible buyers for the firm since the summer of 2000. A spokesman at JDN said the company has always been clear with investors and analysts that Lazard has been exploring strategic options for a year and one half. But inside the company, employees were confused about a recent article in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution which said the company was for sale.
