After a short stint on the auction block, Harcourt General could see a bid from Reed Elsevier, according to reports. In a conference call, Crispin Davis, CEO of Reed Elsevier, said “whenever any major publishing asset comes up for sale like this, we of course look at them and this is the case here.” He added that it is too early to elaborate.
