Private equity firm Investcorp is buying PE-backed education provider Nobel Learning.

Nobel Learning, headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, operates a network of 176 schools in 18 states. The company provides preschool through high school education, and operates an online private school that offers college-preparatory programs to students in more than 55 countries. Nobel also offers before- and after-school programs and a summer program.

Investcorp plans to grow the company through add-on acquisitions.

The Manama, Bahrain-based firm's recent transactions include the sale of Berlin Packaging LLC to Oak Hill Capital Partners in August, and sale of Mergers & Acquisitions' publisher SourceMedia to Observer Capital, also in August. In July, Investcorp bought SPGPrints Group BV.

Nobel Learning has been backed by Leeds Equity Partners, a New York private equity firm, since 2011. Leeds specializes in education, training, business services, information services and software investments.
