Shareholders are voting down poison pills twice as much as last year. So far this year, in 42 proposals among Standard & Poor’s 1500 composite index companies, a majority of shareholders have voted against poison pills in 31 cases, according to data compiled by the Investor Responsibility Research Center (IRRC). The average support for the 31 approved proposals was 64.5%.
