It looks like financier Carl Icahn and VISX Inc. are not seeing eye-to-eye with regard to the company’s direction. And now that Icahn has been “dissed,” he may push for a sale of the company, though sources don’t see it going anywhere for a while. One analyst who requested anonymity said VISX probably would not be taken out. “There are lingering questions regarding its technology leadership. People doubt that VISX’s technology is that much better” than competing firms, such as Nestle SA’s Alcon Technologies or Bausch & Lomb Inc., he said.
