Hearst Corp. is buying Homecare Homebase LLC.

Dallas-based Homecare provides hosted software services to home care and hospice markets. Hearst is picking up an 85 percent stake in the company for an undisclosed amount.

The company will become part of Heart’s health care group, which includes First Databank, Zynx Health and MCG, after the deal closes.

Homecare is backed by Cressey & Co. LP, a Chicago private equity firm, and SV Life Sciences Advisers LLP, a venture capital firm. Cressey focuses on health care investments, while Boston-based SV Life focuses on biotechnology and health care.

JeffBistrong, SamHendler, Tyler Dewing Kojo Appenteng, Turner Bredrup and James Clark from Harris Williams & Co. provided financial advice to Homecare on the deal.
