Harris Williams expanded its technology group, adding Derek Swaim, a director, and Tyler Dewing, a vice president, to its Boston office. And they’re not done.

“The tech space has been a sector of continuing activity right through the downturn,” said Jeffrey Bistrong, Harris Williams co-head of technology, media and digital. “It’s quite possible the pace of tech M&A could outstrip the pace of the economic recovery.”

Because of this, Bistrong said, the firm is also looking at candidates for its San Francisco office.

Earlier this year, Harris Williams hired Francois Morin, joining Thierry Monjauze in London to expand the firm’s European tech dealmaking efforts.

Harris Williams has been on a roll, shuffling professionals around and adding more dealmakers. In March, it hired Douglas Yablonski and Patrick McNulty, respectively experienced with Banc of America Securities and Portico Capital Securities, among other firms. Harris Williams also promoted six professionals earlier this month and also added back in January a Blackstone and Deutsche Bank veteran to its European shop.

Lately, recruiters have been on a roll in the dealmaking business—and they still have plenty of talent to choose from. Chicago-based Buccino & Associates added Thomas McCabe to its practice and LBC Credit Partners added John Jadach to its ranks. Additionally, Oak Hill Capital Partners added Mark Pacala as a senior advisor overseeing healthcare deals and investment banks William Blair and Houlihan Lokey each recruited new talent.

Moelis & Co. has tapped John Grady as a Boston-based senior advisor; he spent 14 years with State Street Global Advisors and worked at Lehman Bros. Houlihan Lokey has hired across a number of practices, as well as Lincoln International.
