The Hallwood Group Inc. shouldn’t have too difficult a time finding a buyer for its textile division, Brookwood Inc., now that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Gumbiner proposed a sale of the business as part of a broader liquidation of Hallwood. However, the Street has not received the breakup proposal so warmly seen by the decline in Hallwood’s share price after it made a strong jump following the announcement.
