Glencoe Capital buys dip maker Robert Rothschild Farm

Glencoe Capital Management has acquired sauce producer Robert Rothschild Farm. The PE firm will be combine the target with Clearbrook Farms, which Glencoe purchased in 2016.

Rothschild Farm, located in Urbana, Ohio, makes sauces, dips and dessert toppings. The target's brands include Robert Rothschild Farm Fresh, Game Day Gourmet, Made in Napa Valley, and Vineyard Pantry.

Glencoe is a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm that invests in businesses that have up to $15 million in Ebitda. The firm focuses on the food, chemicals, education, plastics and packaging, and insurance sectors.

Demand for packaged foods has been rising as consumers look to eat more at home. Advent International agreed to acquire pasta sauce producer Rao's Specialty Foods; Benford Capital Partners purchased a majority stake in snacks manufacturer Saco Foods; and Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Co. Ltd. bought packaged side dish producer Bellisio Foods.
