Gilbarco Veeder-Root is buying Outcast Media.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based Outcast provides video screens at gas pumps that are seen by about 36 million viewers per month, as measured by Nielsen. The screens broadcast localized weather, sports and traffic reports, as well as advertising.

The company will operate as the media business unit of Gilbarco. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gilbarco integrates technology into gas stations, including fuel dispensers, operation management systems and convenience store equipment.  Combined, the companies should offer new forms of media designed to grow convenience store sales.
