Private equity firm GI Partners is buying information technology infrastructure company Peak 10 Inc.

Peak 10, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides IT infrastructure services, including data center, cloud infrastructure and managed services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Menlo Park, California-based GI is making the investment from GI Partners Fund IV, which has $2 billion in capital commitments and closed in April. The firm has invested in several other IT infrastructure businesses, including Digital Realty Trust (NYSE: DLR), the Telx Group and SoftLayer Technologies. The firm agreed to sell SoftLayer to IBM in 2013 for $2 billion. 

The firm manages about $10 billion in capital, focusing on investments in IT infrastructure, health care services, retail and leisure, and financial and real estate services.
