In a recent personnel development at the Federal Trade Commission, Steven Bernstein has been appointed to assistant director for Mergers 1, one of three industry focus groups in the agency’s Bureau of Competition (BOC). Bernstein, a 12-year veteran attorney in the group, took his new position on Aug. 11, when Ann Malester, who formerly filled the slot, was promoted to deputy director of the BOC. Bernstein was formerly deputy assistant director.
